University of Delaware Fashion & Textile Deaccession Survey
As part of my Preventive Minor, I am helping to develop a form and protocol for an ongoing deaccession project at the University of Delaware’s Fashion & Textile Collection. During the Fall of 2021, I created a literature review and a preliminary survey form. During the Spring of 2021, the survey form and process were refined, a survey form was created, and resources were developed for the student volunteers. All of the documents below were uploaded to a shared Google Drive to be used by the staff, students, and volunteers at the UD Fashion & Textile Collection.
The report summarizes the literature surrounding deaccession projects in fashion collections and lays out the foundation for the current deaccessioning project
The student guide contains written instructions for the deaccession survey to guide the volunteers and students through the process.
The deaccession form is a clickable PDF to gather data about each item and help streamline the process.
A short two page reference for basic condition issues that students may come across during the survey.
